Watercolor with Tombow Pens

Did you know that Tombow Dual Brush Pens LOVE water??? Yep… add water to your brush strokes for depth, highlight and a real watercolor look. What you will need:

This is a simple, yet beautiful way to add style to your lettering. Write your word with a lighter base color. If you choose a different color for each letter, then do this technique one letter at a time.

Once the base color is drawn, add a darker layer on top about ½ of the way down.

Use your water brush pen to pull the color down the stroke, there is no right or wrong way. Just have fun experimenting to achieve the look you like.

Continue this process for the remaining letters. Remember to clean the water brush if you are alternating colors.

Now it is time to add shading. With the water brush, draw a bit of color from the letter to shade the left side. Watch the video for this process. Be sure to clean the brush before moving on to the other letters.

Once the shadowing is dried, complete your lettering project by highlighting the shadows with the fine-tip end of the Tombow Dual Brush Pen. Wala! A beautiful way to letter.
